School
Classes started again this past Monday and it’s hard to believe I’m already in my second - and last semester in England. It’s scary to think how fast time has flown by since last spring. I remember the day I got accepted to study abroad - the day before my birthday, and by far the best birthday present I’ve ever received. I love Leicester, and I love England. When I went to...

THE SUN
The sun in England is incredibly deceiving.
In California, when the sun shines, it’s USUALLY warm. (95% of the time)
In England, if the sun is shining, it doesn’t mean it’s warm…even if it’s warm on my back as it comes in through the window while I’m sit at my desk typing this.
I went for a run this morning…after three minutes I couldn’t feel my...

Day 34
Thursday, October 21
I woke up and made myself some sausage and beans and tea - very English, might I add, and they were great. I had a Romantics and Victorian literature class at 12, which is always very interesting to me. We had an entire lecture on the life and works of Mary Wollstonecraft (Vindication of the Rights of Women). I do like that class a lot. Then I went to pay for housing which...
Day 33
Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Today I had no classes, so I slept in until about 9:30, and though I was drunk last night, I felt like any other morning, since lucky me doesn’t get sick or hang overs from drinking… :) safe to brag? yes.
At 2pm, Tam and I met our friend, Amanda, at the Varsity Bar on London Road. Amanda is the one who put together the Study Abroad Society, which I am a...
Day 32
I had class at 11am. I woke up at 7 to finish reading my book. I only got to page 387 of 516. I thought I would be the only one not to finish my book. I got to the seminar, which are small discussions that are like follow-ups for lectures, and found that I had gotten the third farthest out of the entire class - only 10 of us, but still! Instant relief…yessssss
I forgot to say that I rode...
Day 31
I had class from 9-10am and then 11-12 and 12-1pm. I decided that since it was freezing, I would just wear a sweatshirt, jeans, and uggs……BAD IDEA. people in this country dress up like they’re at a fashion show just to go to lectures. Everyone - and when I say everyone, I mean everyone - that I saw, which of course happened to be a lot more than usual, asked me if I was okay. Of...
Day 28
I’m finally all caught up on my days. Maybe from now on I can get a post up each day rather than whenever I bring my camera out. ha!
Anways, Last night - Thursday night - I invited all my friends over for a movie night. We ended up playing twister and listening to music for almost two hours before we even chose a movie. (We watched Zac and Miri Make a Porno.) We all agreed that we...
